Who are we?
The Australian Minerals and Energy Skills Alliance Limited (AUSMESA) is an independent, industry-led organisation aiming to support and transform vocational education and training (VET) delivery across the mining and automotive sectors.
The AUSMESA vision is to drive workforce capability for all stakeholders, now and into the future.
We are essentially a start-up operation – growing, changing, adapting, and developing as we go.
AUSMESA plays a key role across the Australian skills and workforce development ecosystem. We partner with industry, governments, educators, and the workforce to help meet the mining and automotive sectors’ workforce capability requirements. We play a pivotal role to ensure Australia’s VET system is well respected by employers, responsive to changing technologies, and flexible to market demands.
The Federal Government announced AUSMESA as the Mining and Automotive Jobs and Skills Council (JSC), which aims to strengthen industry leadership and engagement to deliver a VET system that can respond rapidly to changes in Australia’s economy and build a skilled and resilient national workforce. As a Jobs and Skills Council, we facilitate greater and more impactful engagement across the workforce and skills ecosystem.
AUSMESA also houses the Mining Skills Organisation Pilot (MSOP), funded by the Commonwealth Government to inform improvement to Australia’s VET system.
